Weather Insanity

My little Weather.com toolbar has been going insane lately. SNOWSNOWSNOWSNOW is coming this weekend. Could be 8-10 whole inches of the snow falling.

Wasn’t it just 60 a few weeks ago? What is wrong with the weather? It would be nice if the weather could just make up its mind to be one season or the other.
In a bit of missing the winter, here is this little thing. Perhaps I won’t be missing winter for much longer.

Daily Dose of Insanity

Oh, carrots are divine
You get a dozen for a dime
It’s magic
They fry, a song begins
They roast and I hear violins
it’s magic
Why do I kid myself
of the love that I really
have are a few?
When in my heart I know
the magic’s my love for you!

If someone can find me a WAV file for that, I will be in your debt.

Me Bad Blog User

So SaraNoH tagged me to do one of those things where you fill stuff out and tag more people to do it, but since I’m a bad blogger I’m going to ignore that one. It has made me think though. What was I doing 10 years ago?

Ugh. I do remember that 1995 was a pretty sucky year all around and ’96 was when I started to get my stuff together. I was all crazy in internet love with an Englishman. Which obviously turned out badly since I’m married to an American.

I also remember having a roommate undergoing chemotherapy for Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was doing well when I moved out, I hope he still is even though I can’t actually remember his name. He pursued his own methods of muting the side effects of chemo. It was a pretty laid back house to live in. It also made me believe that the good folks in California and Oregon have it right with their alternative medicine therapies.
In the last year there hasn’t been much change except Adam is older and we’re actually less tired. He sleeps for hours on end now and we can actually lie in bed til 8 or 9 on weekends. Glorious!

I imagine the next year will bring great changes. It’s exciting and nerve wracking. If I had my old, single, childless, crazy carefree (and more lonely) life I probably would have just bit the bullet and made my changes already. Alas, my days of carefree whimsy are long over. Fortunately, I don’t view this as a negative thing.

Marketing Idiots

As I was wandering through the frozen food aisle looking for frozen bagels I spotted the WORST idea for a kid’s food I’ve ever seen

Frozen popsicles in the shape of a pencil.

They’re called Scribblers.

I hate these people and I hate the parents that would actually buy them.

Why would you arm your children with fruity, brightly colored with permanent red dye pencil shaped, highly meltable popsicles?  Does food have to be “fun” shaped?

If we’re going to make “fun shaped” food, shouldn’t it be something kids don’t like to eat?  Rocket shaped brocolli, racing car carrots, jiggly ghost shaped tofu squares.

eeedeeeeeeooooots.
