Driving Me to Drink

Count this as the second post where I bitch about my job. If I get to 50 and I’m still here, you may point and laugh at me. Maybe even call me names.
So, in case you all weren’t aware I now manage Field Support Techs at the USPTO. Mind you, I don’t have the luxury of actually working for the government and getting paid lots of money. Noooooo… I ‘m a government contractor and anyone familiar with contracting knows that that means.
PHENOMENAL COSMIC RESPONSIBILITY
itty bitty job security.

Next, I’d like you all to look up the word “Pedantic.” You may find synonyms such as Pedestrian, commonplace, or unimaginative. Now imagine you work for this person.
Imagine throwing out words you might have run into in college such as “Machiavellian” or “Egregious” or “trifecta” and having to censor yourself and use smaller words or risk explaining yourself.
Aaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhh
I keep telling myself that I REALLY have to find a new job. Really really do. Really really really really do.
If I wasn’t a parent and all responsible now I might have settled for short-term alcoholism.
So please I implore you (thats beg to some people) help me find a job.

That is all.

New blog engine for Kirstin

I decided that I don’t have the time to fiddle with PHP code when someone else out there has done it better.

In this case, the “someone else” are the people behind WordPress. Now, Kirstin has a blog that won’t eat her posts.

So maybe she’ll blog more than once a year :-)

Eight Months Later...

The last time I posted on my website the world was a different place. At least my world was a different place.
Now the baby I couldn’t wait to get out is nearly 8 months old. Instead of doing flips in my stomach he’s crawling backwards and getting into everything.
I’ve also been promoted to “management” at work. I now manage a team of 26 field technicians.
I hate it.
I hate it a lot.
I don’t enjoy accountability for other people other than myself.
If anyone knows anyone in the DC area hiring for anything that makes enough money LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need a new job!

And last but not least — a big thanks to Mikey for setting up a new blog engine! WooWoo.
