Now Taking Snow Fall Predictions for 2007-2008 Winter!
According to the weather guys, we’re 2.1” from the record of 76.1” set in the 1978-79.
The 10 day forecast has 5 days as possible snow fall days, including today and tomorrow where anywhere from 3-6” has been predicted.
So that means, currently on February 11, 2008 we have had 74” of snow in Madison, WI.
How many more inches do you think we’ll have between now and May 15th? OK, we don’t seriously expect snow in May around here, but with this weather you never know.
So, my guess is that by May 15th we will have had 87.6” inches. That covers the rest of February and whatever March and April dump on us.
I’ll take any and all guesses, and the Madison area winner** may just quite possibly get his or her hands on a cheesecake that is taking up space in my refrigerator. If, by some miracle both cheesecakes in my freezer have been eaten by May 16th, well… I will dub that person the world’s smartest person for a day right here on this blog.
**Winner is defined by guessing the exact amount to the tenth of an inch, or whomever is closest (either over or under) to the final total.
Each number can only be used once.
In a tie situation, the winners will share the cheesecake OR the title of world’s smartest person.
How can there be a tie?
Assuming person 1 suggests 81.2 and person 2 suggests 81.4 and the actual snowfall is 81.3, then they both win. This is pretty darn unlikely.
You may vote 3 times between now April 1st.
Final snowfall number will be the number given by the National Weather Service.
Snow Prediction
I read in the paper today that we’ll get 100 inches when it’s all said and done…..
I think my next big purchase will be a 4 wheel drive truck (that holds two big dogs).
At least we've got the record
As long as we’ve had to live through all the snow this winter, at least we’ve got a record to show for it.
I was thinking it could be close to 100 too. I’m going to guess 96.3.
Snow
I’m reserving my vote for closer to April 1. We broke the record and we’re getting 6-10 more inches this weekend.
