Winged Backyard Creatures
Last night I got home and went to inspect the progress of my recently fertilized, watered, and slightly more buried in topsoil plants.
Thats when I noticed it.
Long, black, skinny, winged creatures with orange legs hovering over the dirt.
Normally I don’t have that P-A-N-I-C feeling when I see flying bugs. These, however, made me nervous. After extensive googling I determined them to be wasps. eeeuuuuurrrrgggghhhhhhh
I showed them to Mike when he got home. “Yep, those are wasps.” he pronounced.
I have peppers that desperately need to be transplanted and I’m terrified to step into my garden. I don’t need chili peppers with a side of anaphylaxis so I’m going to put these in containers until we can get the exterminator back to kill ‘em all now that I’ve located their home. They have decided to setup wasp central in the hollow, rusted end of our clothes line.
Fortunately, they don’t seem terribly aggressive so I feel relatively safe in the back yard as long as we stay out of the garden and away from the far side of the clothes line.
Does anyone know the best way to remove a giant iron clothes line post?
Eeeeeee! Wasps!
I don’t know if I should tell anyone this, but I’m TERRIFIED of wasps. I’m really not fond of anything with a stinger, but I have an irrational fear of wasps. If you want to see me run screaming, show me a wasp. I can’t even use allergies as an excuse.
