Springtime in Madison

Well, we’ve all been here in Madison for over a whole week now. Adam has settled nicely into his daycare and has picked up a cold and delivered it straight to his parents.
I feel like someone has beaten me with a baseball bat and then inflated a balloon in my head. Everything hurts — Adam tries to tickle me, it hurts. I roll over in bed, it hurts. I’m home from work today, but am working sporadically using the lovely VPN.

The shame of all of this is that our house is still mostly unpacked and boxes, packing tape and bubble-wrap are in every single room. We at least have a functioning kitchen now and can eat food that hasn’t been delivered to us.

And speaking of delivery foods — the worst part about moving is figuring out who delivers to you. I need to find some sort of magazine or website that tells me who can bring people in the Hilldale area food. And when we finally move again to our permanent house, we’ll have to do it all over again, unless we stay in roughly the same area. After spending a couple hours on Sunday going to open houses, I can honestly say I don’t know where I want to live anymore. Really, it’s all about the house and the neighborhood. I don’t want to pay a lot to live close in, but I don’t want to save money and live way far out. Somewhere the perfect house is waiting for us, we just have to find it.
