Rhinovirus induced Whiplash

Last Friday I stood on a mountaintop in a thunderstorm holding a 50 foot metal pole in one had and a bible in the other and shouted “There is no God!”

OK, I didn’t really do that. I’m not suicidal. But I did stupidly note that everyone I knew was sick and I was not. I felt GRRRRRRRREEAT! Nope, no sniffles here. Totally healthy.

dumbass.

I’m sick, my nose is itchy, my sinuses hurt, and I have incredibly violent sneezes that hurt so good. The sneezes by themselves are a relief to my head. My neck, back, shoulders, arms, hands and fingers beg to differ.

The first sneeze is ok, but the 2nd and 3rd and rare 4th lead to ever increasing shooting neuro-muscular pain. Yesterday after my first eye appointment since before Adam was born I was driving down Campus Drive (with my eyes dilated, no less) and had 3 incredibly violent sneezes that left a lingering pain for almost 20 minutes in my THUMBS. By the way, raging sinus headache + full eye exam + incredibly bright, sunny day = a level of hell not previously experienced. I don’t recommend it for any but the most masochistic.

So, how’s your week going?

they hurt down to your thumbs?

As a connesseiur of sneezing, I have to say that I’ve NEVER had that kind of experiences. Geez Louise. Blech. Hope you feel better soon.

We have had puking AND colds at our house. While also trying to get our ducks in line to buy a house and pack up our stuff so we can move out of our current house. No shooting neuro-muscular pain to speak of, though. (I did have a caffeine headache on Tuesday after having nothing in my stomach for a while, though.)

oh great...

Ruppert is sick too. He blames me for all of my comments about how strong his immune system must be since I’ve been sick twice since we moved here and he didn’t get sick either time. But now it’s his turn to have a sore throat and be sniffly. He doesn’t sound as miserable as you (yet).

So tomorrow I’m going to have to wear some sort of mask. I do NOT want to get sick AGAIN.

I can’t believe your thumbs hurt.
