Politics, Politics, Politics, Politics, Politics...
Last night Amy and I went to the Dane County Democrats meeting.
Since I left DC and the Alliance for Science, I was interested in getting more socially and politically active. Absent a Wisconsin Citizens for Science organization, the local Democratic party seemed a good place to start. The meeting was interesting. I saw some really annoying people (there’s a handful in every group) and met some really awesome people too. I don’t know what sort of role I can play in this organization. Running for office is no something I have ever aspired to. Grass-roots politics is great, except I really hate canvassing. I’m happy to chat with canvasses who come to my door and occassionally drop a bit of money for a good cause, but the one time I went door to door I HATED it. I also hated doing phone banks unless I was calling constituents and even that wasn’t very pleasant.
I guess the best thing I can do is persuade everyone to GO OUT AND VOTE ON NOVEMBER 8th. VOTE NO on that ridiculous Marriage Amendment Bill. If you don’t know why you should vote no, email me and I’ll be happy to tell you.
Also NO on the death penalty
While you Wisconsinites are voting no on the ridiculous Marriage Amendment, also vote no on the ridiculous Death Penalty referendum.
Two state referendums, two no votes. Should be easy to remember.
