Tonight for dinner we opened a bottle of New Zealand Pinot Noir. It was tasty.
We finished the bottle.

We ate some chocolate bits and opened a bottle of Australian Merlot. It’s antipodean wine night at the Bloy house.

After I finally got Adam to bed, I sat down with iTunes playing all the songs stuck in my head, my wine, and my knitting.

Intoxication + (The Fratellis, The New Pornographers, Neko Case, and HelloGoodbye) = super awesome knitting ability. My hands seemed more fluid and less clumsy. The music with something interesting to sing along to made the task go faster, too.

I’ve noticed that a moderately intoxicating amount of alcohol makes certain activities go better. My darts games always went better after the 3rd beer and then went dramatically downhill after beers 5 and 6. Those games were great if I were actually aiming for passers-by or the floor.

I’ve always suspected that I’m a better violinist when slightly intoxicated. I have not had an opportunity to test that in performance, just practice.

Glad to hear you’re still knitting. Have you figured out how to purl?

Still can't purl

Can’t remember how. You’ll have to come show me.

The Facts of Life

There was a “Facts of Life” episode where Natalie wrote a term paper while drunk (it was on Moby Dick). She thought it was BRILLIANT! The next morning, she went to re-read it and all it said was “Moby Dick was a B-I-G fish!”

Ha ha ha.

Let that be a lesson to the both of you with the drunk knitting and fiddling!

=)
