In Exile
December 14, 2006 - 12:39am
I’ve been unemployed since November 30th at roughly 4:00pm.
That’s 16 days, 6 hours. I’ve been to job interviews, conducted phone interviews, scheduled yet more phone interviews, written countless cover letters, uncovered new job boards for Madison and still haven’t had a stroke of luck. Today’s interview with the State of WI was an unmitigated disaster.
At least Adam is enjoying his time home with me and I get to sleep in a bit for now. Oh well, hopefully the next couple of weeks will bring better luck and we can all get back to our regularly scheduled routines.
sheesh
My Dad was telling me that unemployment there is as low as it’s ever been and it is taking the average job seeker 5 days to find a job. EESH! Now what’s average? Food service worker?
Hang in there
Look at the unexpected time off as a holiday gift.
Above all, keep at it, have patience, and don’t let it get you down. Here’s hoping something will work out soon.
ok...
So I suppose my other comment wasn’t very inspiring or comforting.
I have heard the rule of thumb that you have to look for 1 month for every 10k you wish to make. That seems like an arbitrary rule, but think about it this way… the longer you wait the more you get paid. Wouldn’t that be nice?
