When we left VA we had an idea of what sort of house we wanted.
More space, better layout, storage, a garage, a backyard, a bigger kitchen, the ability to have more than 3 people over and not have our house feel crowded and location, location, location.
So we did pretty well for ourselves, but we failed to factor in one small issue.

Snow.

LOTS OF SNOW with nowhere to go.

Our driveway is a shared space on one side, house on the other with a little bit of yard in the front.

Currently we have upwards of 4’ of snow piled up on the side of the house. As I was shoveling the remaining bits of snow that couldn’t be moved with the snow blower (THANK YOU LUKE – we owe you Guinness!) I was pondering the amount of water in that snow and whether or not that would find it’s way into our basement.
As it warms up, we may find ourselves shovelling 50 cubic feet of snow back into the driveway to a)hasten melting and b)prevent (or lessen) seepage.

The warm weather last week made me think about spring and my plans for our house on the outside…
I’m anxiously awaiting warm, dry weather so we can
1)Plant (herbs, veggies, flowers, and shrubs)
2)Paint (doors, garage, porch and (ugh) fence)
3)Landscape
4)Convince Mike the green picket fence is ugly and needs to go away. Anyone want a green picket fence?
Free to anyone willing to haul it away!

Yay! Herbs!

I can’t wait to have some outdoor space of my own to garden. I’m driving Ruppert nuts with the indoor gardening.
