House PR0N
In a late-night moment of weakness a few weeks ago when I was trolling This Old House’s website I subscribed to their magazine.
My first issue was waiting for me in our mailbox, accompanied by a Bed Bath and Beyond flier to educate me on their latest consumer offerings. Why does the universe hate me?
Looking at TOH’s magazine is, I suspect, a little like surfing actual P R0 N (see how I don’t want to get spammed there?). Some things I read are very tittleating (oooh…. bamboo kitchen countertops…), out of budget (solar hot water heaters), or just plain odd (mortaring rock veneer to your house!)
It’s an addiction, I know. I’m sure there’s even a support group somewhere for wannabe house renovation addicts can get together and help each other work through their affliction.
“My name is K.B. and I am addicted to Home and Garden TV shows, radio shows, books, and magazines. Today I considered getting a seccond job so that I could remodel the kitchen next year. Instead, I think I’ll paint the garage.”
Camping P 0 rn
I have those same feelings when I get those camping/outdoors catalogs (LL Bean, Cabelas, etc.) Lusting after those cool tents, campstoves, lanterns…
Welcome to the club.
Sheesh woman, now you know what I’ve been doing for the last 4 years.
