No Comments Make Kirsti Sad :(
So here I am thinking NO ONE EVER READS my blog anymore. No comments. Why doesn’t anyone comment? Where’s the love?
But just tonight RyanK tells me something about a moderation queue on the blog because he left a comment for me re: his birthday party. I looked and saw no comments by Ryan, but I was dying to find out what he wrote and to what section of armlessbear limbo they had gotten to.
So I finally discover by poking around and trying to leave a comment while not logged in that I do indeed have a moderation queue that NO ONE EVER (ahem, Mike) told me about. No e-mails saying “hey, you have comments in moderation”
So I found ‘em all and read ‘em all. It is a “feature” that will be fixed sometime this fall (ahem, Mike).
In the meantime, keep commenting and I’ll actually check that moderation queue on a regular basis to see what my non-spam readers have to say.
So my apologies to RyanK, RyanD, Sara, Allyson, Ooks, Erin, Alexandre, Joeyroo and Jon for having your comments disappear.
They’ve all been restored.
Reminder: Autumn officially begins September 23rd at 4:03AM GMT or September 22 at 11:03PM CDT.
Yay! I love fall harvest! It appeals to the pagan side of me.
Yikes! I just a weather.com FROST ALERT. damn.
love the fall, hate the winter.
leaving comments makes me happy
but moderation queues make me sad.
I hate having to have my comments approved.
deleting online casino ads
make me sad. We’ll see if we can find some happy medium here.
Akismet
Mike, have you looked at Akismet? I installed that on my WordPress blog, and it has kept the 99.9% of the comment spammers off my site.

A Bloy and his Blog
I was wondering
I’m sorry I never said anything to you about it… I had been meaning to ask you since I noticed that only one or so people seemed to be able to comment.
Ruppert is looking for a good way to keep the spammers off – that’s how he screwed up his comments on his site. He thinks he’s going to start over, sort of from scratch, on his site. I asked him to leave mine alone for now. I don’t get too much spam, it’s usually easy to delete.
What's a subject?
Mine were terrible for a while. Since I’ve added the referrer logic, though, I’ve been spam free (crosses fingers).
E-mail notification is where it’s at.
