A Long Days Germy Into Night
Everyone in our household is infected with something. Late last week through this weekend Adam and I had sutffy unpleasant runny noses. Last night at 3:30 I was awakened to consumptive, hacking, coughing Mike. This also awakened poor Adam who suddenly needed (but didn’t get) cocoa. I’ll be the first to admit our diet has been somewhat devoid of good nutrition since we moved back to Wisconsin. And Adam is being exposed to whole new germs every day at daycare. This however, is ridiculous. We’ve all had trips to the doctor and anti-biotics (2 ear infections, 1 pink-eye.)
I’m convined our low immune system is related to stress and chaos.
Let us enumerate our stressors
House in VA not selling (almost 60 days now)
Lease expiring in August (see above)
Job situation (my job is done in September)
Financial stress
House in complete chaos stress
No air conditioning in our house
No dishwasher in our house
Scary bedroom with scary shadows at night (that’s Adam, not us)
10 years ago I enjoyed the feeling of living by the seat of my pants.
Today, not so much. The gray hairs popping up in my bangs are a visual testament to how much I don’t like ot.
And to add additional drama to the mix, I received a call from a large technology corporation who was assessing my interest in one of their open positions as an assistant project manager. The pay is good, the location is good. The downside?
5 weeks this summer in Massachusetts in their bootcamp training.
5 weeks away from Mike and Adam
5 weeks of Mike alone with Adam and kitties and all the above things.
Fortunately, family and friends are close by to help out. Maybe my parents could even take Adam for another weeks or so. Maybe Mike and Adam could fly out to Boston to see me.
Or maybe, since the local Madison guy hasn’t called me back, they’ve decided they’re not interested. Which means I don’t have to make a decision about turning down a job because I don’t think the timing is very good.
Argh.
Oh dear
What happened with the job offer? Hope everyone’s feeling better by now. (Damn Wisconsin! Nah, just kidding)
