The insanity here not so much on the overwhelming side

So, as Mike stated, I’m 900 miles away. Actually, it is only about 850 and Adam is up in Spooner being pampered by his grandparents. I’ve been staying with Luke and Amy while I wait for my furniture and Mike to arrive.

Our new rental house is small. I thought our old townhouse was small. Boy was I wrong. This house is small and a death trap when you leave the main level. The stairs up to the finished attic area are narrow and steep. If I had a size 5 foot, I might just be able to fit my foot on a stair. The basement stairs are less steep, but if you’re over 5’9” you’ll bang your head at the bottom. Luke also tells me that the insulation looks like asbestos.
The main level bedrooms are something impossibly small like 10×10 or smaller. The kitchen space is a third of what I had, and the closets are tiny. Seriously, how did people live like this 50 years ago?

Most of our stuff will stay in boxes in the basement or the garage until we buy a house. Fortunately for us, our lease is up the end of August and with any luck we should have sold and closed on our house and bought a new one just in time to get out without having to go month to month.

Also, my new pet peeve is the goddamned wisconsin accent. Even the broadcasters have that overly drawn out O sound. Is it too late to move back?

Well, Mike and Spike and Clio will be here soon enough. Our stuff will allegedly arrive on Monday and then we’ll be settled in by the time we have to move again.

I thought I’d be happy to see Northern VA in the rear-view mirror, but I miss it already and I’m dying to go to NYC for an outing and a Broadway show or 2.

Once we get settled at Eugenia street we’ll have to have the local Madisonians over for a cookout.
Look for an e-vite near you.

If you ever need a nyc weekend and can catch a cheap flight, you are always welcome. You are starting the mass exodus back to wisconsin i feel. Give me 2 years.

Wow! You are here!

Welcome back, Kirstin. Eugenia Street, huh? I like that neighborhood. Jeff and E live on Meadow Lane (over by Hilldale).

Stairs

I hate it when stairs are too small for my feet, especially if I have to carry things up and down those stairs.
